Chicken and Tofu Burgers
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:

Take advantage of the microwave, which helps you reduce your prep time amazingly. Not exactly a vegetarian dish, but it's high in protein and low in fat, and the best thing is... it's really tasty.
Chicken katsu
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
SAKURAGIRL1
This is my family recipe for Chicken Katsu - Japanese fried chicken. Can also be used to make Tonkatsu, just use pork cutlets instead of chicken. Serve with white rice and tonkatsu sauce.
Chicken yakitori
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
These delicious Japanese-style bites of chicken speared with green pepper and spring onions can be assembled in advance and then grilled just before serving. For the best flavour, leave the chicken to marinate for several hours or overnight, and remember to soak the skewers first so they do not burn under the grill.

Recipe by:

These vegetarian maki rolls are easy to make, and you can add either crabmeat or smoked salmon if you prefer. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi!
Cucumber Sunomo

Recipe by:

A Japanese recipe for cucumbers marinated in vinegar, sugar, salt and ginger. So simple but so delicious!
Grilled Aubergine with Teriyaki Pork
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
MrsNorico
It's so easy and tasty you'll make it for dinner tonight. If you make it for a party, I assure you everybody will love it! To add more colour, you could sautee pork with julienne red pepper and onion slices. That'll make this dish look a bit fancier.
Grilled teriyaki mackerel
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Jana Marko
Japanese marinade gives a lovely taste and texture to grilled mackerel. Yellow tail, tuna or salmon are also good for this recipe. Easy, exotic!
Japanese Cheesecake
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
scuba diving cat
A light and fluffy cheesecake made with whipped eggs and very little cream cheese.
Japanese chicken salad
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Azmina Govindji
The ingredients for this salad are presented individually on a platter rather than being mixed together, with a simple tahini-based dressing so everyone can help themselves. Typical of Japanese cooking, there is a fairly small amount of meat per person, but plenty of raw vegetables to crunch through and fill you up.
Japanese Dipping Sauce
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
CRIMSON667
This is a traditional Japanese dipping sauce for prawns or vegetable tempura. Serve in small bowls and provide grated fresh ginger, wasabi and grated mooli (daikon) to mix into the sauce. You can get all these ingredients at a Japanese or Asian shop.
Japanese Fusion Beef Roll with Soy and Red Wine Sauce
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Chieko
This recipe is one of my favourites that represents "East meets West". Very easy to prepare, yet fancy enough for any dinner parties. It has a balanced nutritional value and is low calorie. Serve it with steamed rice and broccoli or your favourite green vegetable.
Japanese miso soup
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
Shiitake mushrooms, ginger and a stock made with dried kombu seaweed bring rich savoury flavours to this Oriental broth, which is quick and easy to make. With delicate tofu and slightly peppery watercress, the resulting soup is ideal for a deliciously healthy first course before a stir-fry of mixed vegetables with noodles.
Japanese Mushroom Soup
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Sawako
A very mild fresh mushroom soup. It's a very improvisable recipe; most of the quantities can be changed according to taste.
Japanese Okonomiyaki
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Sherbg
'Okonomi' means 'whatever you like' and 'yaki' means 'cook or fry.' Serve with your favourite sauce: sweet and sour, Tonkatsu, sweet chilli, etc.
Japanese red rice
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
Red aduki beans give this Japanese rice dish an appealing rosy tint, yet the flavour is mild and creamy. It's an interesting dish to try, particularly if you are experimenting with an Oriental menu.
Japanese shabu shabu
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Maggie Pannell
Japanese-style fondue includes thin strips of lean steak, baby vegetables and udon noodles, all cooked at the table in simmering stock. Enjoy with Japanese dips and pickles for a fun, one-pot meal.
Japanese soup noodles with smoked tofu and bean sprouts
(0 ratings)
Recipe by:
Norma MacMillan
As interest in Oriental cuisines increases, supermarkets are stocking a wider variety of noodles. To make this tempting lunch dish, Japanese soba – hearty noodles made from buckwheat – are simmered in a soy and ginger stock with smoked tofu and an appetising mixture of vegetables.
